I’m growing increasingly hopeless.
Watching the performance from Les Miserables last night, it really ground into me that the rich always have and always will find ways to not only make more money that the “have nots” but they also design the system of government, taxation, banking, housing, food supply, etc, etc to keep people apathetic and hopeless.
I want to fight. I yearn for something I can hold onto that will help keep my faith in humanity alive. This hop elessness is permeating my life. The only thing I know to do is to keep people informed via social media. I read and read and find ways to summarize in 140 characters or less. Or, I make sure there is a good photo to visually represent the issue. I provide ways to make the situation better.
I have to accept that the majority of people dont want that. If they are content in their own lives, why would they lift a finger to help anyone else? The jobless and homeless should go get a job themselves… Why ask for “hand outs” or demand “entitlements”?? WHY?? Because people need help and its not that fucking easy.
Government says middle class is someone earing $250, 000 PER YEAR??? Holy WHAT?? What does that make me, at $35, 000?? Some people make $12k!!! What the hell is going on and WHY IS NO ONE DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT??
The super rich are too powerful? Take away that power. They have too much influence? Why is anyone listening? For personal gain? Im really, really tired of the fact that we just accept the idea that our politicians are corrupt and take money from lobbyists in order to sway their votes / decisions. WHY IS THAT ACCEPTABLE?
I wish there was just an area some of us could go to in order to grow our own food… Raise a family / community farm without any government involvement. OR, here’s a novel idea… a government that actually wants to help its people. What. An. Idea.
