Earlier this week, we highlighted two Occupy activists for you, whom the NYPD has decided to label as professional agitators. Christina Gonzalez and Matthew Swaye have been videotaping police performing stop and frisk searches and then posting those videos on YouTube. So now, the 30th precinct in New York has flyers up in their station with Christina and Matthew’s face on them, labeling the two as “professional agitators”. So Alyona talks to them about their interesting new title.

Who cares about the rest of the nation, right? This guys is spending over $60 MILLION dollars on this year’s presidential race alone (That we know of…) to ensure Romney is put into office. Don’t worry, Adelson will still have $25 BILLION in his pockets and a major influx of cash from businesses overseas that do not get taxed the way they should.

Because of the lower tax rate in those countries (currently zero in Macau), the company now has a United States corporate tax rate of 9.8 percent, compared with the statutory rate of 35 percent. President Obama has repeatedly proposed ending the deductions and credits that allow corporations like Las Vegas Sands to shelter billions in income overseas, but has been blocked by Republicans.”

Bernie Sanders, Independent Senator from Vermont (Hopefully a future presidential candidate…) details income inequality and how the rich in this country are steering (buying) politics towards skewing the system to line their own pockets. 

1% of the population holds 40% of the wealth in this country

60% of the population holds less than 2%

The bottom 40% holds 3/10ths of ONE percent. 

From 2009 - 2010 93% of all new income went to the top 1%. The rest shared the other 7%.
